Potomac Speleological Club
21st Annual Jamboree
at the Lutz Fieldstation
June 25-27, 2025
Come join PSC for a weekend of eating and caving at our Lutz fieldstation in Pocahontas County, West Virginia!
The fieldstation is conveniently located near a number of great caves including My Cave, Sharps Cave, and Simmons-Mingo. On Saturday, there will be caving trips open to one and all. Other nearby activities you might consider are hiking or biking in the Seneca State Forest, or on the Greenbrier River Trail; visiting the National Radio Astronomy Observatory; or riding the Cass Scenic Railroad.
On Saturday night, High's Restaurant of Monterey, Va., will provide dinner: barbecued chicken, vegetarian lasagna, several side dishes, pies, iced tea and lemonade. If you want adult beverages, please bring your own.
The cost for Saturday dinner and two nights camping is $40 per person. (No discount for late arrivals or early departures.) To register, click on "Pay" at the top of this page. You must sign up and pay by Sunday, July 20, so that we can give the caterer an accurate count in advance. Note that we cannot give refunds for the dinner after that date.
The fieldstation has plenty of flat ground for camping, in a field that is nearly one acre in size. Dinner will be served in the open-sided pavilion, where you can also find electrical outlets. There is a pit toilet similar to those at USFS campgrounds but nicer, and some woods if you sleep in a hammock and need two trees. There's a small creek on the property, but no potable water, so bring your own. Behind the pavilion is an outdoor sink where you can wash dishes using creek water.
Please carpool to the event if at all possible. Large turnouts in recent years have resulted in difficulty parking all the cars. Directions.
